Toruń Private
Day Tour
Step into one of Poland's most beautiful medieval cities — Toruń, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus. Gothic churches, Teutonic castle ruins, the famous Leaning Tower, legendary gingerbread, and the stunning Vistula riverside. ~170 km from Gdansk — full-day private tour.
The Torun day trip from Gdansk covers approximately 170 km south — an easy, comfortable ride through the flat Pomeranian countryside. Torun sits on the banks of the Vistula and has been there, largely unchanged in its medieval core, since the 13th century. The Teutonic Knights founded the city in 1231, and it thrived as a major trading hub of the Hanseatic League. Today its Gothic Town Hall is one of the finest medieval civic buildings in Poland, and the ruins of the Teutonic castle — deliberately demolished by the citizens of Torun in 1454 in a legendary act of defiance — still dominate the western edge of the old town.
The Copernicus birthplace tour is a highlight for many visitors. The House of Copernicus on Kopernika Street is now an excellent interactive museum tracing the life and discoveries of the man who proposed that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Born in Torun in 1473, Copernicus fundamentally changed humanity's understanding of the cosmos, and the museum does justice to that legacy in a very accessible way.
A Torun private tour gives you the freedom to set your own rhythm across the Old Town. The walking distances are very manageable — the core attractions are all within 15 minutes of each other on foot — but there's enough to fill 3–4 comfortable hours. Don't leave without buying some traditional Torun gingerbread: the recipes date back centuries and the shapes are instantly recognisable worldwide. A perfect edible souvenir to take home.

Group tours to Torun from Gdansk are rare, and when they run they tend to rush — arriving with just 2 hours in the Old Town before the return drive. With a private tour, you decide how much time you want. Most guests choose 3–4 hours in Torun itself, enough to visit the key museums, walk the Old Town thoroughly, have a proper lunch, and still browse the gingerbread shops at a leisurely pace.
Private transport also means you can tailor the itinerary before and after. Want to stop at a scenic viewpoint along the Vistula on the way? Want to extend to 5 hours if the city captures you? Want to head back earlier if you're travelling with tired children? All of that is on the table. The driver handles navigation and parking; you focus on enjoying one of the most atmospheric medieval cities in Central Europe.
At 1400 PLN for the whole vehicle — split among 4–6 people — the private Torun tour works out as an excellent value for a full-day trip with full flexibility. Compare that to an overnight train, a hotel, and another day away from Gdansk, and the calculation becomes obvious.
